About David J. Mastanduno, Architect

Founded by David Mastanduno in 2004, David J. Mastanduno, Architect specializes in science and technology research facility design. With 29 years of personal experience in the industry prior to starting the company, our founder is seasoned in all forms of research facility design. What this means for our clients is the experience to get the job done as efficiently as possible and the knowledge to cover the interrelated details when planning the facility.

As experts in our field we not only interpret the program into the architectural lay out but also incorporate mechanical electrical, plumbing, life safety, and fire protection components into designs. We understand that a facility should be tailored to the research it will conduct while at the same time offer flexibility and our knowledgeable staff works in collaboration with your researcher and other facility stakeholders to design the appropriate facility. Knowing how valuable our client's research is to them we also plan our systems with redundant capabilities as required by the program. These redundant systems are safeguards to ensure the continued operation of the facility should there be a malfunction or during an emergency. Whether it be an automated watering system, a once through ventilation system, light, or humidity, and temperature controls we understand the options that you should consider and will facilitate the decision making process to consider how to align these needs with the project budget.

The design of a new building or the renovation of an existing facility, we will guide you through the process step by step. Our experience will make the difference in helping to identify areas of the design process that will allow for the critical needs to be identified early on. This will minimize the impact on the construction process i.e. items that require a long lead procurement period can be developed as separate bid packages allowing for delivery of equipment so that construction is not delayed.
